This is our third year running this survey and yet again we’ve all been amazed by the level of support from across the entire sector. We’ve been able to really hone the questions we asked so the survey was smaller and easier to complete, and yet managed to provide more valuable data than ever before.  On top of that we are now able to identify some real trends in how the visitor attraction industry is changing. In reality what that means is that it is now easier than ever for an individual attraction to benchmark their own digital presence against other similar attractions around the world.

I don’t plan to go into too much depth here, but if there is an underlying theme this year it is that testing is more important now than ever before.  We now have a vast amount of accurate and relevant data, and so the marketing efforts of visitor attractions no longer need to be guided by guesswork.

But with a database of well over a thousand venues this year it can be a little tricky to find the correct information to help you and your organisation.

And so that is why we have split some of the findings down into those relevant to single site, or smaller destinations, and the multisite operators.

The information regarding ticketing, CRM, Ecommerce, and CMS systems has been brought up to date, and is now even more accurate and detailed than ever.  And for the first time there is data regarding the use of AI, and digital sustainability.

It would be really easy to focus on the negatives, and only look at where improvements can be made, but one of the things this year’s survey has shown very clearly, is that the whole sector is improving.  The trends are overwhelmingly heading in the right direction and it is clear that a huge amount of good work is going on across the sector.

I won’t say any more, but please go and take a look at the report now, and if you have any questions about what it says, or would like to talk about the implications for your specific venue or organisation then please get in touch.  I’d love to hear from you. Email me direct on oz@rubbercheese.com

And before I finally close I want to thank the wonderful people at Convious for once more supporting the survey and providing sponsorship to allow us to be able to give this away for free.
